About San Diego County

A Great Place to Call Home!

North Coastal San Diego County
Many are attracted to the miles of sandy beaches, jagged rock and cliff formations, and great surf. Others are attracted to the entertainment, unique shops and variety of restaurants. In addition, the climate is such that gardens can host a greater variety of plants than anywhere else in the world. Not surprisingly, there are numerous commercial nurseries throughout the north county coast.

North Coastal San Diego County Communities
North County is the most rapidly growing section of the southwestern corner of the United States, with new neighborhoods, schools, colleges, parks and clusters of expanding companies sprouting up. Those communities along the coast are experiencing rapid growth in their eastern, less developed areas, while along the coast itself older beach cottages are being leveled and new homes and condos replacing them.

North Inland San Diego County
East of the North San Diego County coastal cities is the region known as North County Inland and home to the cities of Vista, San Marcos, Escondido and Poway. North County Inland also has numerous smaller communities that are part of the unincorporated parts of the county with charming names such as Elfin Forest and Harmony Grove. Here you’ll find trees, chaparral, horses and hiking trails are abundant and life has a decidedly more rural flavor with broad valleys, foothills and mountains and canyons. Borrego Springs, located in the desert east of San Diego’s mountains, is home to one of the largest state parks, Anza-Borrego.

North Inland San Diego County Communities
As the population of the county grows, many have found their way to North County Inland where housing tends to be more affordable and the traditional neighborhood is more common than it is in San Diego proper. Even though many residents commute to San Diego, they don’t seem to mind, preferring the more relaxed atmosphere of the northern region to the hustle and bustle of living closer to the city.

San Diego Central
The city, California’s second largest and the United States’ seventh largest, boasts a population of 1.3 million residents with more than 2.8 million residents countywide. This sprawling city with its idyllic weather, miles of sandy beaches and major attractions is known worldwide as one of the best tourist destinations.

San Diego Central Communities
San Diego, with its many diverse neighborhoods, is blessed with the perfect location—on a magnificent harbor with flat plains giving way to rolling hills and mountains—and offers an environment rich in culture and entertainment.

About San Diego County Weather
Just about every day is pleasant in San Diego, and its residents golf, swim, surf, play tennis, hike, bicycle, rollerblade, and do every other outdoor activity imaginable under a canopy of sun and warmth year-round.
